OmeTV is one of the most widely used random video chat apps globally, including in India, built primarily around webcam-to-webcam matching. FunChat covers similar ground but adds text-only random chat, group voice, an AI companion, and a social feed on top. Here's how the two actually compare if you're deciding between them.
Quick take: OmeTV requires account verification (phone or social login) before you can start, and its gender filter sits behind a paid tier. FunChat needs no sign-up at all and its core matching is free — with an optional VIP tier for extra filters rather than a hard paywall on basic use.
OmeTV is a mobile-first, webcam-focused random chat app with a large international user base:
OmeTV's whole design is optimized around webcam-first random matching with light identity verification meant to reduce bot accounts and repeat offenders.
FunChat is built around not needing any sign-up at all — you pick a username and you're in. Alongside random video chat, it includes random text chat (with image sharing), a shared Global Chat Room with a 24/7 public voice room, topic-based Chat Rooms, an always-available AI Companion, and ScrollX — an anonymous social feed. Moderation runs on automated AI review of reported conversations, with tiered bans (from short-duration for casual abuse up to permanent IP bans for severe threats or CSAM) rather than a single one-size-fits-all penalty. An optional VIP tier adds gender/country match preferences and a few extra conveniences, but basic random chat and video chat stay fully free and open with no verification step.

If webcam-to-webcam random video is specifically what you're after and you don't mind verifying your account first, OmeTV is a mature, widely-used option with a large user base. If you'd rather skip any verification step entirely, want the option to switch between text and video chat, or want more to do than a single video call — a group voice room, an AI companion, a social feed — FunChat covers more ground without asking for any sign-up at all.
Whichever you use, the same basic safety rules apply: never share personal or financial details with a stranger, and use the report/block tools the moment something feels off.
