The information and services provided on funchat.in ("BuddyChat", "we", "us", "the platform") are made available on an "as is" and "as available" basis, for general communication and entertainment purposes only. By accessing or using BuddyChat, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this disclaimer.
BuddyChat connects users for real-time, anonymous conversations, voice/video calls, and a public voice room. All messages, text, images, audio, and other content shared is generated by users and not by BuddyChat. We do not create, initiate the transmission of, select the receiver of, or pre-screen this content before it is sent.
BuddyChat operates as an "intermediary" under Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and observes the due diligence required under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (as amended) — including publishing terms of use, acting on lawful takedown and reporting requests, and maintaining a Grievance Officer (see our Privacy Policy). We do not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for any content, opinion, or statement made by any user, and rely on the safe-harbour protection available to intermediaries under Section 79 of the IT Act, 2000.
We do use automated AI moderation to review reported behaviour and act on violations (see our Terms of Service), but this does not make BuddyChat the author, editor, or publisher of user content. Users are solely responsible for their own interactions and for any content they share, send, or receive while using the platform.
Because chat partners are anonymous and randomly matched, BuddyChat cannot guarantee the accuracy, safety, legality, or appropriateness of any content or the identity, age, or behavior of any user. Use of the platform is entirely at your own risk. We strongly advise users to:
NSFW images are blocked. BuddyChat blocks NSFW images. Sexually explicit or nude images, and anything involving minors, are not allowed on BuddyChat at any cost, and any image our AI flags as possibly NSFW is blocked and not delivered. Our AI is super strict, so it can also block normal, harmless images — we would rather block a harmless image than let a prohibited one through. We operate in line with Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT Intermediary Rules, 2021 and the POCSO Act, 2012, and we cooperate with Indian authorities. Users who send prohibited content can be banned permanently and reported to the authorities. This screening is imperfect, and BuddyChat is not responsible for content shared by users.
Personal information and images. If you choose to share personal information or personal images with another user, you do so entirely at your own risk. Anything you send can be screenshotted, saved, forwarded or published by others, and deleting a message does not undo that. BuddyChat is not responsible if your personal information or images are leaked, saved, re-shared or misused by any user or third party.
BuddyChat is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly permit access to minors. If we become aware that a user is underage, the account, session, and associated device/IP address will be permanently banned without notice.
BuddyChat has an absolute zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and for any use of the platform by, or sexualization of, a minor. As required under the POCSO Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000, any such content or conduct detected or reported to us is reported to India's National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and/or the local police or Special Juvenile Police Unit, with evidence preserved for law enforcement — this is a legal obligation, not merely a platform policy. If you encounter content that exploits or endangers a child, do not wait for us — report it directly at cybercrime.gov.in or to your nearest police station, in addition to using our in-app report button.
BuddyChat may display advertisements served by third-party advertising companies, including Google AdSense. These companies may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Any links to external websites or services are provided for convenience only; we do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party sites.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings page.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BuddyChat and its operators shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to emotional distress, harassment, loss of data, leakage or misuse of personal information or images you chose to share, or any harm resulting from interactions with other users — whether that harm occurs during a chat, call, or the public voice room, or in any offline meeting or arrangement made as a result of contact through BuddyChat. This includes errors, delays, false positives, or false negatives in our automated AI moderation.
By using BuddyChat, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless BuddyChat and its operators from any claim or liability arising from your own violation of our Terms of Service or applicable law, or from content you post or transmit through the platform.
Nothing on BuddyChat constitutes legal, medical, financial, or professional advice. Any information exchanged during chats is for casual conversational purposes only and should not be relied upon as such.
We may update this disclaimer from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Continued use of BuddyChat after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised disclaimer.
